Antoni Tàpies i Puig, Marquis of Tàpies (Barcelona, December 13, 1923 – Barcelona, February 6, 2012), was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and art theorist. He was one of the most significant figures of the Catalan artistic movement most attuned to the broader renewal of taste known as International Informalism.
