FEDERICO
FIORENTINI

Federico Fiorentini was born in Milan in 1972, but spent the early years of his life in Palo Alto, California—a place that profoundly shaped his worldview.

His family later returned to Italy, settling first in Lucca and then in Florence. It was in Florence that his artistic path began, studying sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts. Sculpture provided him with a strong foundation, but he soon felt drawn to painting, which became his primary means of expression and the heart of his creative exploration.

Through painting, Fiorentini investigates themes that deeply resonate with him: time, memory, and the ephemeral nature of existence. His works often originate from photographs taken during his travels or in everyday life. In the painting process, these images are transformed into something new—softer, more imperfect—capable of expressing not only what was seen, but also what was felt.

His paintings tell stories, evoke silence, absence, and the lingering traces of memory. Over the years, he has exhibited internationally, from Paris to Hong Kong, from Rome to Florence. He has lived and worked in many cities—including New York, Bali, Berlin, and Carrara—but Florence remains his point of reference, the city where his art truly came to life.

Fiorentini believes that nothing is entirely original—everything is transformation. His inspiration comes from everywhere: books, films, conversations, music, or the simple play of light on a building. Each painting becomes a dialogue between past and present, between the visible and the invisible, and ultimately, between the artist and those who choose to look more closely.
